Lycanthropy
The wolf is not a curse to be endured. It is a pack to be joined.
Lycanthropy on MCNATION is less about what the wolf does to you and more about what wolves do together: werewolves organize into clans with real hierarchy, real politics, and leadership taken by combat, not by vote.
Transformation
Section titled “Transformation”Shift between your human and wolf forms at will:
/werewolf transformYour wolf form carries your clan’s skin (each clan has its own look for leaders and members). The change is skin-deep for now — and it lasts only as long as your session; you wake human after every login.
One thing the wolf costs you: no villager will barter with the beast. While you wear the fur, every trading stall stays shut — return to your human form to deal with them. The pack’s business is hunting, not haggling.
The Moon
Section titled “The Moon”The sky keeps an eight-phase lunar calendar. At each nightfall, everyone in that world is told the current phase. For now the moon watches and is watched.
Clan Law
Section titled “Clan Law”Every clan has one Alpha (its leader) and up to nine Betas (its members — clans hold 10 wolves by default). A werewolf without a clan is an Omega: free, but alone.
Joining: the Alpha must invite you — /werewolf clan invite <player> — and you have 60 seconds to answer with /werewolf clan accept.
Leadership is taken, not given. Any Beta may challenge their Alpha with /werewolf clan challenge. The Alpha has 60 seconds to answer — and yes, they may refuse, but the pack remembers who declined a fair fight. Accepted, the duel runs up to 5 minutes, and pack law is strict about what counts:
- The challenger kills the Alpha → the clan changes hands, on the spot.
- The Alpha kills the challenger → the order stands, and the challenger waits out a 5-minute cooldown before their next ambition. Everyone saw them lose.
- The challenger dies to anything else — a creeper, a cliff, a third blade — or either wolf flees the world mid-duel → the challenge is void, and counts as the challenger’s failure.
Two clans currently run these lands: the Night Howlers and Blood Moon. Ask around before you pledge — or earn your standing within one and take it from the inside.
Pack Diplomacy
Section titled “Pack Diplomacy”Clans treat with each other — and with the deathless — as powers, not persons. The Alpha speaks for the pack:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/werewolf clan ally <clan or vampire> |
Offer an alliance (60 seconds to accept) |
/werewolf clan ally-accept <name> |
Accept an offered alliance |
/werewolf clan rival <clan or vampire> |
Declare a rivalry |
/werewolf clan neutral <name> |
Withdraw from a relation |
/werewolf clan relations |
The pack’s ledger of bonds and feuds (any member may read it) |
Bonds have teeth: clanmates cannot harm clanmates, and allies cannot harm allies — steel simply refuses. The one exception is sacred: an Alpha challenge duel, where pack law suspends pack protection until one wolf falls.
The Moon-Bound God
Section titled “The Moon-Bound God”Heaven has a seat reserved for you. Ulfrayne — first hunter, survivor of the moon’s bite — accepts only werewolves into his covenant, and pays his wolves half again on every hunt. Varkul and Neritha both welcome your nature in their own service. Only Nythrava bars her door — the first vampire has no love for the first wolf. The full accounting of gods and natures is in Faith & Affliction.
Commands
Section titled “Commands”| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/werewolf transform |
Shift between human and wolf form |
/werewolf clan info [clan] |

/werewolf clan invite <player> |
Invite a wolf to your clan (Alpha only) |
/werewolf clan accept |
Accept a clan invitation (60-second window) |
/werewolf clan leave |
Leave your clan (an Alpha must hand off leadership first) |
/werewolf clan challenge |

Clans can also hold alliances and feuds with vampires and other clans — see the relations commands on the Vampirism page; the same system binds both bloodlines.
