Emberwick & the Wild

Keep the lanterns lit. Keep the doors open. And remember what waits past the treeline.

MCNATION is two places, and the difference between them is the whole game.

You wake in Emberwick — a bright market village of lantern-light and worn timber, floating above the world. It is the hearth everyone returns to: a place to gather, to trade, and to catch your breath before the next crossing.

Emberwick is deliberately gentle. If the whole server were like this, there would be no story. It is the calm before.

The seven gods designed the village as neutral ground. Their accord does not cure the blood or drive the wolf from a soul. Within the warded world, it suspends vampirism’s active powers and penalties and holds transformed werewolves in human form.

  • A vampire who enters Emberwick remains a vampire. Their blood is preserved and their age continues to accrue, but vampiric powers and penalties are suspended until they leave.
  • A werewolf who enters in wolf form is forced back into human form. They cannot transform again while inside, and leaving does not transform them automatically.

The ward announces itself when you cross its boundary. Once you return to Wildreach, vampiric systems begin processing your current conditions again: your preserved blood remains, and your age includes the time spent inside. A wolf form dispelled by the ward does not return on its own; transform again after leaving if you want it back.

Beyond the walls lies Wildreach — colourful, vast, and entirely indifferent to whether you survive it. This is where living actually happens: where you build, where you fight, where the night finds you, and where the world may decide to write on you. Every affliction, every pledge, every pack and feud on this wiki happens out in the Reach.

It looks like a hug. It is not. The old gods watch its roads, the moon has opinions about who walks them, and not every traveller you pass is entirely alive.

  • The Gods Are Watching — the one law of every fight out here: you don’t get to run. Flee and heaven kills you for it.
  • The Unmended World — steel does not heal itself in the Reach. Mending is gone; what wears must be kept, repaired, or mourned.
  • Voices & Channels — how to be heard: global chat, your pack’s private channel, and the marks that hang on every name.
  • The Covenant — the seven gods who watch the Reach, and why you might kneel to one.
  • What Ails You — the dark gifts worth keeping and the curses worth surviving.
