The Gods Are Watching
The old gods keep the roads. They have no mercy for a coward’s back.
Wildreach is watched. The pantheon that pours gifts into the faithful and rot into the forsworn keeps the same unblinking eye on every fight fought under the open sky — and the gods hold one law above all others: you finish what you start.
The Mark
Section titled “The Mark”The instant you spill another player’s blood — or they spill yours — heaven lays a mark on you both. It is a brand of the eye, and it burns for about 15 seconds. Every fresh blow renews it to its full length. While it burns, the gods do not let you slip away from a fight you are part of.
You will know it’s on you: a count hangs in your sight, ticking down the seconds until heaven looks away again.
What the Mark Forbids
Section titled “What the Mark Forbids”While the mark burns, the doors of escape are shut to you:
| You cannot… | Because… |
|---|---|
| Log out | Leaving the world mid-fight is the coward’s oldest trick. The gods will not allow it (see below). |
| Teleport | No home, no spawn, no warp. Heaven refuses to open a door it did not choose to open. |
| Run commands | The mark stops your tongue. There are no appeals to be typed while blades are out. |
What you can still do is the honest thing: fight, or run on your own two legs. An ender pearl thrown or a chorus fruit eaten will still carry you — the gods have no quarrel with a mortal who flees under their own power. It’s the cheat they punish, not the retreat.
Running Is Punished
Section titled “Running Is Punished”Try to escape the only way the gods forbid — by tearing yourself out of the world, closing the game, cutting the connection — and heaven answers the way it always has:
They strike you dead where you stood. Your belongings spill into the dirt exactly as though a blade had found your throat, free for whoever holds the field. And the whole server hears how you died — there is no quiet way to flee a fight you were losing.
Who Walks Unmarked
Section titled “Who Walks Unmarked”The keepers of the server — its staff — move above this law; the gods have other uses for them. Everyone else who draws steel in the Reach draws the eye with it.
